"Mushroom Odyssey" is a game that focuses on the journey of a young mushroom as they had just left their family home for the first time in their life. The game features unusual NPCs with not the friendliest appearance, which turn out to be very helpful when the Mushroom finds itself in a bind, after being attacked by a crow and losing all their belongings.
When coming up with the character concepts, I looked a lot into shapes and colors, and the way they affect the story and gameplay. Before our main character was a mushroom, we just knew that we wanted to have a little sad character, out of his comfort zone and going on his first adventure. I chose to go for a tear shape base and from there, the magic has begun and ideas overflew, and everyone loved them. For the non-playable character, I took a similar approach but did not give them any colors so it's not interfering with their purpose.
